K 2019
Between the 16th-23rd of October, Düsseldorf held the largest trade fair for Plastics and Rubber in the world, and Primex travelled across to see all the latest innovations within the Plastic Industry.
The K Show takes place every three years in Düsseldorf, Germany and brings together approximately 225,000 trade visitors from 165 countries, in a venue the size of 32 football fields.
There were lots to take away from K this year, but what was particularly obvious this year, was the emphasis that the industry is currently placing on debates around waste management, microplastics, and marine litter problems. Never before have recycled materials and bio-polymers been in such a spotlight.
As mentioned in previous blog posts, Primex does not produce "single-use plastics" and the applications which use our products typically tend to be more environmentally beneficial than the alternatives. However, it's vital for us to keep up-to-date with advances in recycling, so Primex can too be at the forefront of plastic recycling; even more so, considering that Polyolefins, which Primex specialise in, lend themselves extremely well to being recycled.
As well as attending several of the key-note speeches which were ongoing throughout the Fair, we also made time to visit suppliers and machinery manufacturers to discover new equipment and practices which will keep us as an efficient supplier in the thermoplastic sheet extrusion market.
It was also a good opportunity to catch-up with our current customers and learn about the insights they'd had during the Fair.
