Max's Mini Media Day
To kick start the new season, Max Coates held a media day at his home circuit of Croft. The day was the official start of his 2020 season, which sees him join the MINI CHALLENGE which is one of the support series at eight of the ten British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) events. The Mini remains a front wheel drive race car, but is packing some extra punch than the Clio, so we expect to see even quicker races this year!
Featuring live ITV4 coverage reaching 20 million in the UK alone and average crowds of 38,000 people, it replaces the Renault UK Clio Cup where Coates has enjoyed 14 race wins and championship challenges over the past four seasons.
Throughout the day, the local media attended keen to speak to Max about the upcoming season. Being shown in the media, across radio and TV enables Max to increase his visibility; and hopefully will bring a few more supporters to his already huge fan base.
The reveal of the new livery is also a big moment, and as you can see from the picture below this year sees a new colour scheme for Max. Though, #71 has made a return this year.
The day also provides the opportunity for Max to anounce this years sponsors, and as such gave Primex the opportunity to officially confirm our continued sponsorship of Max Coates.
Being close to the Primex production plant, we were able to send a few of the team to the day to support Max, and some were lucky enough to be taken out for some hot laps, around Croft circuit. One of the fastest circuits in the UK. When you're in the car with Max, his skill and competence is even more obvious. A great day for all involved!
We wish Max all the best for the new season and looking forward to seeing him take on a new challenge.
