Clean Warehousing: How We're Reducing Emissions with Electric Forklifts
In continuation of our push for low carbon footprint manufacturing, Primex are excited to announce a major shift towards a greener future for our company! We've recently partnered with Northern Handling Systems Ltd. to lease a fleet of five brand new, fully electric forklift trucks equipped with cutting-edge lithium-ion batteries. This transition continues our commitment to sustainability, improved safety for our employees, and increased efficiency in our operations.
Why Electric?
There are several compelling reasons why we chose to go electric with our forklifts:
Reduced Carbon Footprint: Our biggest motivator was the environmental impact. Electric forklifts produce zero emissions during operation, significantly reducing our overall carbon footprint. This aligns with our commitment to operating a more sustainable business and doing our part to combat climate change.
Enhanced Indoor Safety: Since electric forklifts don't emit any harmful fumes or gases, they create a safer and healthier work environment for our employees, especially when operating indoors. This eliminates the risks associated with exhaust inhalation and improves overall air quality within our warehouse.
Safer Refueling: No more dealing with hazardous materials! Electric forklifts eliminate the potential dangers associated with refueling LPG-powered trucks. This translates to a safer work environment for everyone involved in the forklift operation process.
Increased Cost-Effectiveness: Electric forklifts offer significant cost benefits in the long run. They require less maintenance compared to traditional models thanks to their simpler design and fewer moving parts. Additionally, electricity is typically cheaper than gasoline or LPG, leading to overall lower operating costs. In turn, helping keep our prices cost effective for our customers!
The Li-Ion Advantage:
We specifically opted for lithium-ion batteries for our electric forklifts due to their superior performance and efficiency. Li-ion batteries offer faster charging times, longer lifespans, and require less frequent replacement compared to older lead-acid battery technology. This translates to less downtime for our forklifts and increased productivity within our warehouse.
We're confident that this transition to electric forklifts will not only benefit the environment and our employees' health but will also contribute to a more streamlined and cost-effective operation.
Stay tuned for future updates on our experience with electric forklifts and how they're contributing to a brighter future for our business!
