Mountain Bike Competition season ends on a high!
Primex European Division Mountain Bike sponsored athlete Liam Clement has recently completed his final race of the 2023 season.
Since Liam’s last Primex blog, he has competed in the last 2 rounds of the UCI Enduro (EDR) World Series which took place in Loudenvielle located in the French Pyrenees and Chatel located on the Swiss border in the French Alps.
Liam riding his Bird Cycleworks Bird Aeris 9 Primex supported competition Enduro bike had a great result in Loudenvielle scoring UCI World series points finishing in the top 30 of a very strong international field of Under 21 Pro Elite competitors. Two weeks later at the final round of the Warner Bros Discovery Sport organised UCI World Series championship Liam started the day strong with a fast time on stage 1 but an unfortunate crash on stage 2 meant that Liam spent the rest of the day on catch up due to the very close times at this level of competition.
Liam’s final event of the season was the Tweedlove Vallelujah event based at Innerleithen in the Tweed Valley Scotland, which also incorporated the final round of the Tweedlove Triple Crown. In a very competitive field made up of the top British Enduro riders Liam had a strong result finishing 5th in the 19-29 years Senior Class. 2nd fastest Under 21 and 8th Overall out of an entry of 472 competitors. This was achieved despite a high-speed crash on stage 4 which cost valuable time. Liam also secured 3rd best male in the Tweedlove Triple Crown Series to finish a successful year of competition.
Again, a massive thanks to Primex European Division for the invaluable support throughout 2023.
